Senior Status

Being a SENIOR comes with a lot of things, including football games, school events, loads of homework, obnoxious teachers, and memories we will keep forever. High school has definitely been an experience that I will always remember.
One of the things that I will take away from SENIOR year is the chances and opportunities I have to spend with my friends. I am the type of person who loves to meet new people && hangout with different crowds. I hang out with the jocks, band geeks, smart kids, class clowns, && the shy people as well. Hanging out with different groups of people has allowed me to experience many things. I take away from every experience that I get to have with my friends. I also have the friends that has been there with me for the four most important years of my life.
Katie Gehring is one of the people that when I look back ten years, she is the person I can talk to about anything, a type of friend that everyone needs. I have known Katie since eighth grade, we played volleyball together for five years. One thing that made our friendship grow was making the VARSITY volleyball team our freshmen year. We also had a lot of classes together. I consider her not only my best friend, but my sister. Our families are really close. I have gained the honor to have her in my life....

JOSIE RUIZ....this girl has been my best friend since freshmen year. I love hanging out with her because she's just like me. I thank God for sending her in my life, because high school wouldn't be the same without her. One thing that I will always remember about this girl is that she is an amazing friend. Anything I needed I knew that I could go to her.
JALEESA SMILEY...oh my gosh, its so crazy that for a whole year in my avid class I had no clue who she was, matter of fact I had no idea she was in my class. It all started my sophomore year in health class, I met a person who would change my life for the good. She is the type of person who loves to talk and laugh. We would always get in trouble in class for talking or laughing too much. One thing that I will remember about her is her swag, not only her style but how she represents herself, something that I admire.

AVID LOVE...est. 2k7-2k11

Today was the last day that my AVID class would gather not only as a class but as a family. I remember walking through the doors of room 254 on September of 2007, not having a clue on what to expect about this class. Being a freshmen, I  had mixed feelings about everything, but specifically high school. I walked into a class of about twenty six students of different races, personalities, and backgrounds. Only knowing one person, Katie Gehring, I felt as if this class was going to be hard to transition in to. Knowing that I would spend the next four important years of my life in, I prayed that it would be a class I would always remember. I strongly believe that God heard my prayer that day, because after four long years, I looked at the clock today and I realized I would only have five minutes left in this class. I began to take a look around to the many faces that has impacted my life greatly and take a breath and thank God for placing me in this class.
My AVID class has been one class that I will always remember until I am old and retired. I pray that God will direct and guide them in whatever they choose to do. I pray love, comfort, support, & protection over them as they venture off to the REAL WORLD. I know that God has so much in store for them and I will be there cheering and praying for them. Some of them will become doctors, figure out the cure for Cancer, break many records in the Olympics, become great parents, a pilot for the air force, and study abroad to beautiful places around the world. Whatever they decide to do, I pray that they will not only reach these things but do well in it. I love these people and I consider them my brothers&sisters.I will definitely miss them but know that we will come together again.

Love,
-tori
